Dr. RN (Nils) Planken is a radiologist at the Amsterdam UMC, AMC location, specializing in cardiovascular imaging. Optimizing clinical cardiovascular imaging techniques and implementing innovations in clinical practice are central to his clinical work, teaching, and research. Examples of successful technical improvements and implementation of cardiac imaging include patient-tailored cardiac CT scan protocols, patient-adapted contrast protocols, and 4D flow MRI for both neonates and adults. After completing his medical studies and PhD research at Maastricht University (dissertation “Hemodialsysis vascular access imaging”), he completed his radiology training and fellowship in cardiovascular radiology at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam.
